About this opening:
Commitment: approx. 10 hrs a week We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to take on the responsibility of Director of Operations. This is a leadership role, responsible for managing our operations department. i3’s operations department plans i3 events, including:
- Detailed logistics of event planning from inception to execution
- Booking venues, speakers, and merchants
- Managing event registration, payments, and reimbursements
- Booking flights and accommodations for out-of-town speakers
- Working with our Marketing Department to create marketing material and campaigns for upcoming events
- Working with our Media Department to secure media coverage of the event
- Coordinate day-of volunteers to ensure set-up, running, and take-down of event proceeds smoothly
As the Director of Operations, you will manage the sub-teams of the Operations Department to ensure your team members are executing the above tasks efficiently for every i3 event that occurs in year.
Our events are largely held in the Greater Toronto Area. Your tasks would be largely remote, however you must be willing and able to come in person to events to ensure smooth execution.
Skillset:
- Located in the Greater Toronto Area (events are predominantly held here)
- Excellent time management and organization
- Excellent leadership - able to lead a large team with several moving parts
- Knowledgeable in the use of project management tools and form creation tools (eg: Microsoft Office, Gantt Charts, Typefrom, etc)
- Previous experience in a Project Management or Event Planning role
- Awareness of different popular topics, concerns, and discourse amongst Islamic communities, popular Islamic speakers-
